Christopher Balmford, founder & MD

Christopher is an internationally recognised plain-language expert. He is the President of Clarity - An international association promoting plain legal language, see www.clarity-international.net. His clients include 8 major national law firms, 20 public listed companies, 16 government bodies, the ASX, the United Nations and the European Central Bank.

A former lawyer, Christopher has worked for his own company since 1999. Before then he worked as:

  • Head of the Plain Language Department, Phillips Fox, 1993-1999
  • IIn-house plain-language consultant, AMP on secondment from Phillips Fox, 1996-1999
  • Head of the plain-language business, Law Reform Commission of Victoria, 1990-1992
  • Part-time researcher, Law Institute of Victoria, 1990-1991
  • Property solicitor and articled clerk, Baker & McKenzie, 1987-1989.

Lisa Galbraith, CEO

Lisa joined Cleardocs after spending 3 years in San Francisco as the General Manager of Hewlett-Packard's global equipment management and re-marketing business, with an annual turnover of $150 million.

Lisa spent 16 years at HP having joined in Melbourne in 1985. Her other roles within the company include:

  • General Manager Re-marketing, 1996-1998
  • General Manager of Australasian Leasing, 1993-1998
  • Marketing Manager of Asia-Pacific Leasing, 1991-1993.

Lisa holds a B.Comm from the University of Melbourne.

Cameron Hemming, National Business Development Manager

Cameron has joined Cleardocs with over 9 years experience in Internet technology and 4 years business banking experience, including:

  • St. George Business Banking, established business banking cheque account facility in 1994.
  • Managing some of Australia's largest corporate web sites including Fuji Xerox, Oracle Asia-Pacific, and Hitachi.
  • Working on a global software rollout for Bayer AG/Deloitte Consulting based in Düsseldorf, Germany; and more recently,
  • Establishing an Internet security access business servicing large corporations such as Macquarie Bank, IAG and Mayne Group.
