Who is Carbon Community Foundation?

To help you offset the carbon dioxide emissions created by your Cleardocs documents, Cleardocs has partnered with Carbon Community Foundation — a not-for-profit company that creates carbon offset projects in Tanzania, Africa and other developing nations.

Your $2 will be used:

• to provide solar lights that replace dangerous, and carbon dioxide emitting, kerosene lamps. The Foundation's projects create jobs for people in villages distributing the solar lights;
• to encourage the use of firewood-efficient cooking stoves, instead of inefficient open fires; and
• to develop tree-planting partnerships with local villages to remove carbon from the atmosphere and to improve the environment. These pending projects will provide jobs for local men and women and help the community to develop skills in management and micro-business development.

As SMSF law and best practice change often, many SMSF trustee(s) and their advisers want a systematic process for updating the SMSF's deed so as to help make sure that their, or their clients', deed is always up to date. To meet that need Cleardocs provides this "SMSF deed free updates service". The service costs $137.50 (inc.GST) for two years — it entitles you to free updates for that period, as explained below.

How the service works

Each time we update our SMSF deed (usually once or twice a year), we send an email to all our customers explaining the changes and why we've made them. That email helps SMSF trustee(s) and their advisers decide whether the SMFS's deed should be updated.

However, if you subscribe to the SMSF deed free updates service for any SMSFs, then for each of those SMSFs we will also send you an email with a link to take you to a page at which you can:

• check that the SMSF's details on our system are current (members' names and addresses etc);
• change any details if needs be; and
• if the trustee(s) decide to update the deed, click to order a free deed of variation to enable the SMSF to adopt the latest version of the Cleardocs SMSF deed.

Although this service is not for everyone, several of our customers have specifically requested it for the peace of mind they feel it will give them.

The reason that the service is not for everyone is that very few SMSF trustee(s) need to update the SMSF's deed every time the law changes. But they do need to consider whether or not to update it.
