Check company name availability

You can choose any company name that is allowed and available. Company name availability depends on whether the name is:

• already included on the national business names register;
• similar or identical to a name already registered or reserved; or
• acceptable or appropriate for registration with ASIC.

If the name that you would like to register is available, you can then apply to register your company.

This search function is for a company name only, not business names. You can search for business name availability once you start the Cleardocs Business Name Registration package.

Cleardocs also allows you to register using your ACN as the company name. If you choose this option, you don't need to select a company name when starting the application. After ASIC processes your application and issues an ACN, your company will be officially recorded as "A.C.N. ### ### ### Pty Ltd" (or the equivalent legal element you select), where the # symbols are replaced with your company's actual ACN.
